Prototype and Spiderman..

Just a quick post for today.. I was playing Prototype over my friends last night and at first the game seemed awesome and different. It was a littler over the top but it was fun, but then we started to realise similarities between Prototype and Spiderman.. we then realised it's made by the same company, Activision. We then realised it's almost identical.. You may think i'm crazy but the way you run, climb, fight, jump is the same. It's as if they just gave it a new story and changed the character's skin. There are obviously differences, like the fact the Prototype guy can't shoot webs but instead he can shape shift. I mean the game is still fun but the similarities just made the game feel weird to play, it was just weird playing Spiderman dressed as Ezio.

Have you guys played the both games? Do you think that the game play is similar?

  1. Me and a couple of friends had the exact same feeling! ..Overall we all enjoyed the game much less than Spider-Man 2 though.

  2. Pretty sure a lot of the people that worked on Web of Shadows worked on Prototype. It isn't really a secret.

  10. I've played Prototype, but not Spiderman. I can imagine what Spiderman gameplay must be like though; pretty lame how little effort game developers actually put into games these days. There are exceptions of course.
