First shift...

Sorry for not posting last night.. My sleeping pattern has just been messed up for the passed few days. I went into work at 11pm, went to sleep at 9am. I woke up then at 7pm and went to sleep at 4am... You get the picture. I got to work half hour early expecting a tour of the club as I've never been there before, but when I got there I just got took straight to where I was working and didn't get told what to do. I was on bar support for two bars, by myself. After two hours of that I got told I was on toilet support, this is just stopping people going into the toilets with drinks, half of the people didn't listen to me anyways. Then to top it off.. the worst part of the night, I was working behind the bar with some girl who'd only been working there for two weeks.. no supervisor or anything. There was atleast twenty people at the bar and I had to serve them, I had no previous experience at this point. I took their order and it was cocktails, I had no idea where anything was, I had to ask the other girl and she had no idea either. It was horrible. I had drunk people moaning and I felt like walking out. I finished work then at 4am and watched Wales vs Samoa in the world cup and had free drinks and food. I'm now finding myself thinking about quitting the job. I applied in the summer for a summer job to keep me on my feet with rent and what not, now summer's over and Uni is starting this month I don't need a job, I'll have my loan to cover it.. Plus even if I did stay there for the money I wouldn't be able to cope as my course is 80% practical and early starts, so I couldn't be doing shifts to 5am then getting up at 9am.. I want to quit but I'll feel like i'm being unreasonable.. I just don't see the point in doing something you dislike if there's no need to do it..

What do you guys think I should do? ..

Going to my first shift soon!!

I'm starting my first shift at Oceana in an hours time. I'm pretty darn nervous but also slightly excited! My friends have just headed off to work now and told me that i'll be on bar support in the Disco House.. I have no idea what that means but woop! I've getting ready now and I have Pendulum on full volume, I can hardly hear myself think, but i'm trying to get used to loud music levels, and Pendulum are closest thing I have that resembles the music being played in the club because I don't think they play Bullet For My Valentine and Linkin Park in a dance club! Anyways i thought I'd pop on to write this because I wont have time to write about it later. I start at 11pm and finish at 4am.. After work Wales are playing in the rugby world cup and we get to watch it in work with free drinks so yay!

I'll get back to those that commented tomorrow. Wish me luck! (:

Free Portal for Steam users!

It's been around four years now since this game was release so you're bound to have heard of it and maybe even own a copy. If not then this is your chance to get it for absolutely free! The reason behind this is that Portal/Portal 2 is now being used in some classrooms to help teach physics, maths, logic, problem-solving skills and spatial reasoning. I don't know about you but I am really jealous of these pupils that get to play Portal in class, I had to learn all these things the boring way.. And I'm a visual learner so this would have been of great help to me. If you for some reason don't know what Portal is then here's a trailer..

Anyways as I said, this game is now free from Valve's website, the download page is here. It is only free until the 20th of September so go go go and download and have fun!

PC gaming with Xbox Controls.

There is pretty much only types of gamers, PC and console gamers. I for one and a bit of both, this is mostly because the majority of my friends are on Xbox Live and the PSN and the fact that at the moment I don't actually have a PC. If you're a console gamer but would like to make the transfer to PC gaming to experience better graphics and overall a better way to game then you might be interested in this product. At first when I saw this product I thought.... what the hell. A lot of people use Ps3 or Xbox controllers whilst PC gaming, but this product is a mixture of PC gaming(mouse) and Xbox gaming(Anolog stick).
Sayy whaaaaaat?
I know what you're thinking.. That's just have a controller and a mouse.. Well you're kinda right I suppose. But just imagine playing a game now with these controls. The mouse in your right hand to move the cursor and the left controller to move around and fire. When I pretend to hold these and play a game it seems to work well in my head, I don't know if that's me going crazy or if this is just a genius idea. The product is also available for Ps3 buttons too. They sell for around £60-£70 which is pretty good considering some gaming mice go for way more alone. They're available from here.

What are your thoughts on this product? Genius or Crazy?

Little update.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, and sorry that this isn't going to be an interesting post.. I've been busy helping my friend move in and getting my haircut for my new job. It's really weird after my haircut, it was super long and now it seems so short. I'm dreading going to work Saturday, the only thing stopping me from not going in is the money.. I've had tickets to go see The Wombats for about 4 months now too and the gig date is 3 days after my first shift, so I need to ask for the day off, i don't know if they'll let me or not. But i'm planning on going anyways, one day of working at a bar is enough experience ahaha. Sorry for the lame blog recently, planning on sorting that out soon.

Minecraft 1.8 leaked

Some of you may play Minecraft and know that there's a big update coming out soon, the big 1.8 update. This update sees a massive amount of changes, this comparing to the other updates that have been pretty minor. In 1.8 single player mode you can have two game types, survival mode and creative mode. The creative world gives you unlimited blocks and the ability to fly, this means it will be a lot easier for users to build awesome buildings. The survival mode means you have to get materials yourself, no flying or no unlimited blocks. You will however be able to sprint, you do this by double hitting 'w'. You will also get an experience bar and a hunger bar, the hunger bar is the thing that's been affecting me most, i'm so used to mining down as far as possible just for a laugh, now though the more you mine the more your hunger bar goes down, you need to make sure you have food with you if you're going to go mining.

I don't know about you but the trailer get's me all excited.. If you're excited and can't wait for the release then you can download the pre-released version here. You're download the Minecraft.jar file, all you have to do is open the Minecraft .bin folder by going to %appdata% , Minecraft, Bin, then delete the Minecraft.jar file and replace with the downloaded one. It works just fine, I'm currently playing it now. It's a little buggy but if you're interested in looking at the updates it's worth a look. If you want to get rid of it then just delete the .bin folder and re-open Minecraft. Notch confirmed on twitter that 1.8 had been leaked. I recommend you check it out!

Giving old games consoles a new life!

Have you got an old games console that you no longer use? Or maybe an Xbox with the rrod? I've got three broken Xbox's and I didn't know what I was going to do with them before now. These pictures may get you in a diy mood so beware.

This Nintendo 64 controller and Gamecube have been transformed into helpful desk organisers, I'm tempted to try something similar with my broken Xbox controller. You can buy these from here.

If those desk organisers aren't for you what about this handy Nintendo 64 office supplies carrier?

This can also be baught from the same place as the above two items. If you don't need any organisers because you're too busy living life to organise then maybe this Ps3 grill would be to your liking?
I always thought the old chunky Ps3's looked like a toaster/George Foreman grill..
One thing is for sure I will not be doing the following to my Xbox.. I love my Xbox but just not this much...
Xbox Fleshlight....
Yup, someone emptied out the Xbox, cut a hole in it and added handles.. All so they could show their love towards said Xbox..

Have some of these images made you want to try and turn some old technology into something new?
